Kyoto> Nagoya> Shirakawa-go> Takayama > Fujigoko> Tokyo
Took the afternoon flight to Kansai Airport (osaka) and arrived at night (6 hours plus flight).
Checked into a hotel in Osaka and only started my journey the next morning at 8am.
Day 1
Transferred to Kyoto to Fushimi Inari Shrine
It's a japanese shrine serving the fox, famous for it's thousand magnificent red tori gates along the hill and prayers for good business wealth/smooth income.
Then moved to Kiyomizu-Dera (Pure Water Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Famous for it's temple being built without a single nail.
Unfortunately it's under restoration.
Before you reach Kiyomizu-dera, you gotta stroll along the shopping street in heritage shoplots.
The Japanese is great in maintaining their cultural touch in every aspect.
Then a few hours drive up to Nagoya city, capital of Aichi Prefecture
Arrived at night, checked in hotel and had a quick stroll along the street.
There's a 24hours drugstore (not the best price - advice only shop in Tokyo) with a penguin figure on facade.
Due to it's a small city, everything closes at 8pm or 9pm.
Day 2
Headed to Shirakawa-go
The infamous traditional gassho house during winter period.
Stroll along the small village was beautiful
I kept my sight enjoying every bit of the scenery and even ventured myself walking out of the track to find something rather beautiful along my path
Then proceed to Takayama
Famous for well-preserved traditional EDO-style street and houses.
This place is rather quite windy
Winter Windy is not a joke, i kept my mask on all time
Day 3
A drive up along the hill to Shinhotaka Double-deck Ropeway to see the world above the clouds at 2200m above sea level. But due to weather, it was snowing, it was foggy.
But the snow was beautiful.
You suppose to see the mountains here.
Snowing dearly.
Then a few hours drive to Fujigoko, checked in hotel and had hot spring bath in the hotel.
Day 4
Woke up the next morning with a Fuji mountain greeting you with it's beautiful peak.
And beautiful morning glow of sunlight shining on the lake
Proceed to Oshino Hakkai, a village with 8 natural spring water filled with melted snow water front Mt. Fuji.
And everywhere of the area, Mt Fuji keeps greeting everyone with it's brightness
Note that it depends on luck to see Mt Fuji and i was lucky enough to see it and also experience continuous fall of unexpected snow during my trip.
Captured at one of the Fuji-goko lake
The famous crazy roller-coaster park in the area near the Fuji Visitor Center
After the fuji visitor center, we actually went to Gotemba Premium Outlet.
Branded brand shopping spree outlet with discounted price.
Then headed to Tokyo, checked in to a hotel nearby shinagawa station
Manage to get myself to the city's aquarium and right in time for the dolphin show at 830pm.
Day 5
Drove to Nikko, arrived at Nikko Strawberry Park
What's great is, 30mins strawberry buffet, the fruits are planted on the ground & are organic enough to be eaten raw right on the spot.
Then to Toshogu Shrine, another UNESCO World Heritage Site
famous for it's glamour and grandeur decoration and ornate details all around the area.
Also, it's a 400 yr old plus shrine houses the EDO period founder, leyasu Tokugawa.
Then drove up to a narrow hill to stop at Lake Chuzenji
A lake on the hill
Very cold and windy
We were there because of this beautiful winter lake name Kegon Falls nearby
one of the Japan's great waterfall.
Day 6
Final Day.
A stop at Asakusa Temple
A stop at Asakusa Temple
Tokyo Town Planning
This was taken at Asakusa Cultural Visitor Center right opposite of the entrance of the temple.
Asakusa Cultural Visitor & Information Center
designed by Kengo Kuma
Inside of this building, just get to the rooftop (free admission) and you will caught the clear view of the city.
Then walking along Ginza for the beautiful well designed buildings
All individual building houses particular branded brand each.
So i took a quiet whole afternoon with a cuppa coffee overlooking the whole street watch pedestrians walking along the street.
Then headed home that night.
